Sunday 2nd April 2023, the Navarangahala premises was converted into a fully fledged Hospital by the Royal College Doctors’ Association. Past and Present Teachers were invited by our very own pupils who are now practicing in various hospitals around the country to participate in their numbers with all the ailments they have to get valuable advice from the highly qualified consultants, other general physicians, radiologists, eye surgeons who were present in their numbers to serve the teachers.
Screening of all participants, Investigations, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastic surgery, ENT surgery just to name a few was provided to the teachers. This is a very valuable service to all the teachers considering the situation in the country where cost of consultations, cost of drugs etc. which have become very high.
We wish to convey our gratitude to our dear doctors for this magnanimous gesture extended to their teachers.
To conduct such a big task continuously for 23 years is no small task. We thank the founder President Dr. Asela Mendis, and the 18 others who followed him and the Present President Dr. Ajith Tennakoon, Forensic Medical Officer of Pathology and Chief Judicial Medical Officer of NHS Colombo for their dedicated service towards this cause.
Present Principal of Royal College, Mr. R.M.M Ratnayake, RCU Secretary Mr. Hiran Wimalarathne were also present on the occasion along with the past Principal, Mr. B. Suriarachchi, and our very own RCPTA President Mr. M. Dharmadasa among others.
