A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE OUR POLONNARUWA TRIP A GREAT SUCCESS
Dear Members and Friends, As the President of the Royal College Past Teachers’ Association, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making our three-day trip to Polonnaruwa a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. First and foremost, I would like to place on record our sincere appreciation to Mr. Bandu Gunathilaka, Chief Coordinator, and the committee members — Mr. N. Somasiri, Mr. S. Illeperuma, Mr. Sarath Karunarathne, Mr. Kanapathipillai, Mr. Samson, Mrs. Renuka Illangathilaka and Mrs. Sharina Lathif — for their dedication and commitment. A special word of appreciation is due to Mr. S. Illeperuma, who planned and coordinated the arrangements meticulously, ensuring that everything proceeded smoothly throughout the tour. I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to Mrs. Renuka Illangathilaka for the tremendous amount of time, effort and personal resources she devoted to making this tour a great success. Her commitment and willingness to go the extra mile were truly remarkable. She also handled the financial matters of the tour with great efficiency and responsibility. Her invaluable contribution deserves our highest appreciation and gratitude. My sincere thanks also go to all the participants. Your cooperation, punctuality, friendliness and positive spirit were the main reasons for the wonderful atmosphere we enjoyed throughout the journey. A special mention should be made of Mr. Heras Fernando, who helped us break the monotony of travelling with his hilarious stories and entertaining conversations. I also thank everyone who joined in the singing and made our journeys even more enjoyable. Those moments of laughter and singing will certainly remain among our fondest memories of the trip. We are also very grateful to Mr. Sudath Liyanagunawardena for contacting the management of the Araliya Hotel and successfully obtaining a 40% discount on all our rooms. This was a significant contribution towards making the tour more affordable for everyone. I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to Mr. S. Illeperuma and Mr. Ranjith Senanayaka for their valuable advice, guidance and support throughout the planning and implementation of the tour. Finally, I wish to thank each and every one of you who played a part, whether big or small, in making this three-day journey such a happy and memorable one. More than the places we visited, it was the friendship, fellowship, laughter and togetherness that made this trip truly special. Let us cherish these wonderful memories and look forward to many more opportunities to travel, meet and enjoy each other's company in the future. Thank you all, once again, for your invaluable support and cooperation. With warm regards and sincere appreciation, Ranjith Hemachandra President Royal College Past Teachers’ Association
