The Medical Camp of the Royal College Doctors Association
The annual medical camp held by the Doctors’ Association of Royal College (RCDA) was held on
the 22 nd March 2026 at the Royal College Primary Section premises. The entire section of the
primary was converted to a small hospital with all the specialties in place. Following Specialties
were in place for the benefit of the past and present teachers. Tests were done as some some
had come fasting and breakfast provided for them and others.
While the tests for various ailments were done, a meeting of the RCDA was held in the College
Hall. The Present Principal Mr. Athula Wijewardana graced the occasion. Among others present
were, Past Principal Mr. S.H.Kumarasinghe, members of the RCU, President of the RCDA.
Dr.Ajith Tennakoon, Mr. Abaya Amaradasa, President of RCPTA Mr. Ranjith Hemachandra and
some members of the tutorial staff of Royal College along with other committee members of
RCDA.
President RCDA said this is the 26 th year this clinic has been held for the benefit of present and
past teachers. The Principal, President RCPTA, Secretary of RCDA also spoke among others.
Dr. Kalindu briefed about the clinics that were to be conducted on that day. Namely,
Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Surgery,
Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Oncology, Radiology, Dental and a nutrition clinic
was in place. A pharmacy issuing free medicine using the prescriptions provided by the doctors
was also there for the benefit of the teachers.
