RCPTA – Social Service Project 2025
As the Social service project of the RCPTA for 2025, the plan was to provide a tube well for a remote school in Rathnapura, Hettikanda Maha Vidyalaya with the help of the water resources board. Several places were tested for it without success. Finally, it was decided to provide other necessities to the school children and some library facilities.
With the contributions from the RCPTA members and old Royalists and well-wishers’ necessary funds were collected. Project coordinator Mrs. Kalyani Abeygunawardana did a magnificent job in getting things done for the project. Sports equipment, Library Cupboard, exercise books, and related items, and a water bottle for them to bring water to school was purchased to be distributed among the 80 children in the school. Books for the school library was provided by Mr. Heras Fernando our very own RCPTA member, we are very thankful for his effort.
On the day we visited the school, arrangements were made to distribute a parcel to each student containing a packet of milk, food packet containing biscuits, chocolates, apples with the contributions made by our very own RCPTA members. I take this opportunity to thank my fellow members who donated and helped to make this project a complete success.
