Report on the one-day tour 2025
One day tour of the Royal College Past Teachers’ Association was held on the 4th August 2025. As in the previous years the Old Royalists of UAE – ORUAE came forward to sponsor this event this year too to show their gratitude to the teachers who taught them during their time in school. They have been sponsoring this event since 2011. Every year as the month of August approaches we get a reminder that the ORUAE is ready to sponsor this event as usual.
This year we had our outing at the Winsgreat Hotel, in Piliyandala. It is not the first time we had this event here as the hotel is owned by another Old Royalist Arjun Abeysinghe. The members of the ORUAE had direct contact with him lead by Mr. Prasanna Wanigasekara to see that everything was ready for the day outing. About 180 odd members checked in from 8.30 in the morning for the event. After a brief meeting presided by our President Mr. M. Dharmadasa a short briefing about the days program was voiced by the coordinator Mr. E.G.M Rajakaruna. Our host Arjuna has made arrangements for the group to have a sumptuous breakfast of Kiribath and the accompaniments. This was followed by various games that was arranged with prizes for the winners.
A well laid out lunch was arranged by Arjuna which was enjoyed by everyone. The President of the ORUAE Mr. Shihan Sherieff spoke in the end thanked all the teachers for participating in the event and said that they enjoyed seeing the teachers having a wonderful time on that day.
We are grateful to the ORUAE for their generous donation of Rs.450,000/- to the medical fund of the RCPTA.
