Three Day Tour of the RCPTA -2025

The members of the RCPTA and some of their spouses numbering 70 embarked on a three-day outing to Nuwara Eliya on 30th31st August and 1st September. The tour group left the gates of Royal College in two 35-seater buses at 5.30 am on the 30th August. All tour arrangements were meticulously arranged by the tour coordinators, Mr. H.M.Dayaratne and Mr. G. W. N.Somasiri.

They planned ahead with a pilot tour in search of beautiful places to visit, search for suitable places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner to suit a small budget so as not to put too much of a strain on the participants. We are grateful to them for the meticulous arrangements with specific instructions given to have an enjoyable tour.

After arriving in Nuwara Eliya we checked in at the Alpine Hotel, and we celebrated Mrs. Hema Gunasekara our former Vice Principals birthday with a cake. A musical evening was arranged with a band playing and everyone was dancing and enjoyed before settling down to dinner. Next morning, we checked out of the hotel and visits to places that were planned ahead. Diyaluma Falls, Mandaram Nuwara Viewpoint, and Moon plains, which took a fair amount of time for 70 people to visit these places considering their ages. After lunch we had tea at a beautiful serene hotel, Marabedda Garden resort a place no body wanted to leave. As it was getting late everyone was sad to leave.

We checked in for the night at a hotel with five-star comfort, “Black Pool” in Nuwara Eliya. Here as well before dinner there was a singer providing music and dancing continued and finally settled for a sumptuous dinner and a very comfortable stay for the night. Morning a well laid out breakfast was enjoyed by everyone. It must be mentioned here that arrangements for us in this hotel was made by the owner himself Mr. H.D Premasiri at a very reasonable per head rate.

We left the hotel happily for a long journey home after having lunch and tea on the way.
