Annual Alms Giving 2025 – 28 th June 2025
The annual Alms Giving of the RCPTA was held on the 28 th June 2025 at the Asokaramaya
Temple at Thimbirigasyaya.The coordinators of the project Mrs, Srimathi Weerasuriya, Mrs.
Renuka Illankathillake & Sepali Rathnayake did a wonderful job organizing it. About two months
prior to the dane all items were allocated to members who were willing to bring cooked items
as well as dry rations. They were at the temple to organize the dane from 2.00am at the
temple.
15 Priests were scheduled to participate in the dane, as the head priest was hospitalized for an
ailment 14 priests were present. Gatahaththe Sobitha himi, Ehaliyagoda Dhammakirthi himi,
Thumbowila Dhammarathana himi and Pattiyawala Chandaloka himi were among the priests
present. Initially merits were bestowed on those departed members followed by merits on the
present members. Anusasanas were delivered by Meegoda Kehtharamadhipathi and
Patiyawela Chandaloka himi. Kandawe Amitha himi also spoke and all the priests were very
pleased with the way the dana was organized. A number of Atapirikaras and sesu pirikaras
were offered to the priests. Thumbowila Dhammarathanahimi on his final anusasana bestowed
merits on the departed members and also mentioning the Dalada poojawa, monthly Budda
poojawa, Mulleriyawe pinkama the past teachers did while they were in school as well
May the merits gained be bestowed on all the members of the RCPTA
